Lifeguard New Year’s Resolutions

Happy New Year from our family to yours! We are wishing you a happy, safe holiday and a year filled with joy, laughter, and many memories. In the spirit of new, we’ve compiled a few resolutions for lifeguards. These aren’t your average New Year’s resolutions because you’re not an average lifeguard. Try one out—or try them all!

1. Swim a little every day

Practice makes perfect, right? In order to make speedy rescues, your swimming skills need to be in tip-top shape. Try swimming a little bit every day. If you can commit to at least 10 minutes per day, you’ll see amazing results within the first few months of 2020.

2. Healthy eating

We know that everyone and their brother is trying to abide by a new diet in January, so we’re not telling you to jump on that bandwagon. Instead, pick one or two healthy snacks that you can eat on the job. Try an apple or a healthy granola bar. It will give you more energy, and it’ll get you in the habit of prioritizing healthy foods.

3. Brush up on your skills

Once you’re trained to be a lifeguard, it’s easy to forget how important your certification courses are. Promise yourself to take one course this year to brush up on your skills and refresh your memory.

4. Try a new location

If you’ve been sitting in the same lifeguard chair for years, 2020 may be the year to make a change. Try to work at a different pool or beach—mix it up!

5. Protect your skin

It goes without saying that you should always be loading up on sunscreen, but we get it. Sometimes, you forget. Make this year the year that you really protect your skin. Take extra precautions, bump up the SPF, and wear hats!

That’s a wrap! It’s been an incredible year here at Lifeguard TV®, and we’re excited for all the great things to come in 2020.

Happy New Year!
