Top 5 Websites for Swimmers

In today’s world, you no longer have to ask a store associate for lifetube recommendations or which sunscreen gives the best protection. The world is at your fingertips with the click of a button and a quick search on the web. That being said, there are hundreds of thousands of resources out there, so it can be tricky to narrow down your list of go-to sites. We’ve done that work for you, so check out our five website picks for swimmers in 2019, in no particular order:

1) USA Swimming

If you’re a beginner or an Olympic champion, you’ll find resources through the USA Swimming site. USA Swimming is the National Governing Body for U.S. swimming, meaning you’ll join a crew of like-minded swimmers who enjoy the culture as much as you do. Keep in mind — while USA Swimming has a slew of free resources and information, there is a greater part of the organization that requires a membership fee to join. Either way, you’ll reap the benefits. It’s just a matter of what you intend to gain from the site.

2) Lifeguard Times

We’re grateful for your support on our site, and we’re also pretty proud of what we have to offer! Lifeguard Times, the sister site to Lifeguard TV, is a trusty source for news concerning lifeguards, water safety, swimmers, and beaches. We cover everything from health to tech to events, keeping you in the know as we continue to grow. Bonus: If you’re looking for lifeguard job postings, we’ve got a page for that.

3) USA Swimming Foundation

Explained as the “philanthropic arm” of USA Swimming, the USA Swimming Foundation focuses more on the water safety aspect of swimming. The foundation’s aim is to promote programs that support swimmers in every facet of their lives. Their slogan is: “In the pool and in life.” Through this organization, you’ll find great ways to support your fellow swimmers and involve yourself in philanthropic efforts.

4) CollegeSwimming

You don’t have to be in college to enjoy this site! CollegeSwimming covers all of the college swimming news you need to be up-to-date on the latest and greatest swimming achievements. CollegeSwimming is different from the other sites here because it’s much more oriented toward sports. You wouldn’t follow CollegeSwimming to learn about new water safety technology; instead, you’d log in to quickly get an update on the most recent team rankings.

5) GoSwim

Co-founded by USA Olympian Glenn Mills, GoSwim’s goal is to enable people to swim better and faster. What makes GoSwim different is it’s a video-based company. All of the site’s instructions are visual, so you can easily understand the movements and techniques needed to improve your swimming. If you know anything about Glenn Mills and her accomplishments, you’d understand the impact of her leadership in this site.

These are just 5 of many sites that can give you the tools and empowerment you need to move forward with your swimming journey. It’s always useful to do a quick search to find the sites that work best for your needs. Happy swimming!
